WHY YOU SHOULD TRUST ME

My first computer was an MS-DOS laptop. I got it in about 2001 and I used to play Prince of Persia and Dave in black and white.

Because I don’t have the option, I was forced to fix and upgrade all my computers, both Windows and Mac.
In the early 2010s, I wrote about electronics and I always was helping people buy the best tech for their needs.

Google Pixelbook Go REVIEW

  • PERFORMANCE:

With its fanless Intel CPU design, this laptop is much more able to multi-task between more than a dozen of Google Chrome browser tabs without reloading upon accessing them due to the limited memory.

From word processing to internet browsing, all tasks can be done on the Pixelbook Go without issue.

  • DISPLAY:

This laptop touch screen glass is crazy reflective, forcing you to position the lid at an angle you may not like.

The colors look accurate, the text is legible due to just enough pixel density.

The bottom line, the display works just fine.

  • KEYBOARD:

With Google’s “Hush” design, the keyboard combines silence and forceful feedback, making it one of the best laptop keyboards.

  • TRACKPAD:

The trackpad of the Google Pixelbook Go is large but not responsive, but Google has done a good job with palm rejection.

  • STORAGE:

Unfortunately, this laptop has no microSD storage expansion, but if you know how to manage your storage a 64 GB can be enough, especially if you use it just for writing and the internet.

  • BATTERY LIFE:

This laptop has an extremely impressive battery life, it is able to last 11 hours and 14 minutes playing a local looped video, which is longer than the MacBook Air 2019 by an hour and 14 minutes.

Charging its battery from an outlet for just 20 minutes can give you can up to two hours of usage.

  • PORTABILITY

It feels great carrying it around in the hand or under the arm due to the unique texture underneath.

CONCLUSION

If you are looking for a laptop to write on with impressive battery life, an amazing keyboard, and an affordable price, this one is a great choice to consider.

M1 MacBook Air REVIEW

  • PERFORMANCE:

The M1 MacBook Air offers excellent performance, especially for some that will use it for just writing and internet browsing.

One thing that you should know is that the fanless design that makes it runs silently could impact performance when it’s performing demanding tasks over long periods of time.

  • DISPLAY:

The 13.3 inches display is sharp and bright enough to provide good visibility in most settings.

Despite the glossy screen, this laptop has excellent reflection handling.

The bezels around the display are looking a bit big and chunky for today’s standards.

  • KEYBOARD:

The Magic keyboard keys are well-spaced and have a very short total travel that doesn’t require much force.

Compared to the previous Butterfly keyboards, it provides a much better typing experience and is less prone to key failures due to dust and other small particulates.

  • TRACKPAD:

The trackpad is massive and reliable. It’s smooth, responsive, and precise

  • STORAGE:

This laptop comes with 512 GB of SSD storage, and the usable capacity is less than that, but it remains more than enough for a laptop for internet browsing and youtube.

  • BATTERY LIFE:

In tests, browsing the web with occasional video content, this laptop lasted 13.3 hours.

In the video playback test, this laptop lasts for 6.6 hrs. It takes 3.1 hours to charge to 100%.

Considering all that, the M1 MacBook Air has excellent battery life.

  • PORTABILITY

Considering how thin and light this laptop is, it is very portable with its small power adapter.

CONCLUSION

If you are looking for a laptop to write on with great battery life and excellent performance, you should consider the M1 MacBook Air.

Acer Chromebook Spin 311 REVIEW

  • PERFORMANCE:

The Acer Chromebook Spin 311 remains smooth over basic tasks like word processing and the internet.

But if you open a dozen or more browser tabs it feels sluggish.

  • DISPLAY:

The display of this laptop is sharp enough for general web browsing and video playback but it looks a bit grainy when you are close.

Unfortunately, the screen brightness is mediocre because doesn’t get bright enough in sunny environments.

  • KEYBOARD:

The keyboard is fairly comfortable to type on. The keys are well-spaced and don’t feel cramped.

  • TRACKPAD:

The trackpad is barely functional due to the plastic that makes it has a lot of unnecessary friction and the multi-touch gestures that are nearly impossible to perform.

  • STORAGE:

The Acer Chromebook Spin 311 has 64 GB of eMMC flash storage that is more than enough for bloggers who need to browse the internet, write Word documents, and edit photos.

  • BATTERY LIFE:

The Acer Chromebook 311 laptop has a pretty good battery life. It can safely last you a working day away from the office.

It is also fully charged from zero in two hours.

  • PORTABILITY

Considering its compact size and lighter weight, carrying around at home or inside a backpack outdoor is easy.

CONCLUSION

If you are on a tight budget and you are looking for a laptop with a good battery life to write Word documents on and light-browsing, this one can do that without spending much.

Lenovo IdeaPad 3 REVIEW

  • PERFORMANCE:

As long as you’re sticking to writing Word documents and internet browsing, this laptop will be able to keep up.

  • DISPLAY:

The screen isn’t bright enough, fine details are relatively sharp, and letters don’t look too pixelated.

  • KEYBOARD:

The keyboard is good for typing but you can still experience a number of skipped and double letters.

It includes a numeric keypad and the backlight is present in the models we are reviewing.

  • TRACKPAD:

The trackpad of this laptop is small, but it glides and taps smoothly enough.

  • STORAGE:

This laptop comes with an SSD of 256 GB, able to upgrade later, which is fairly enough for Word documents and internet browsing.

  • BATTERY LIFE:

This laptop can last about seven hours of real-world usage.

Acer Chromebook 317 REVIEW

  • PERFORMANCE:

This laptop is able to handle medium web browsing just fine.

  • DISPLAY:

The massive display looks dim even at its brightest setting, but it remains decent.

Writing outside or next to a shadeless window, the screen becomes difficult to see.

  • KEYBOARD:

The spacious keyboard makes you even feel cramped or restricted. Typing on it feels comfortable.

Unfortunately, there is no backlight for easy writing in dark spaces.

  • TRACKPAD:

The trackpad is large and sits to the left on the deck, where hands typically sit.

It is easily clicked but doesn’t glide as smoothly as glass trackpads.

  • STORAGE:

The 64 GB of storage you get with this laptop is restrictive, but it can be enough for basic use like writing Word documents and the internet if you know how to manage your disk space.

  • BATTERY LIFE:

The is able to last about 9 hours and 30 minutes web surfing over Wi-Fi, which is respectable for a machine with a large display.

  • PORTABILITY

Laptops with 17.3″ are not designed for portability.

The hefty weight combined with its large screen makes it difficult to carry around.

CONCLUSION

If you are looking for a laptop with a large screen and a comfortable keyboard for easy typing without paying much, you should consider the Acer Chromebook 317.
