WHY YOU SHOULD TRUST ME

My first computer was an MS-DOS laptop. I got it in about 2001 and I used to play Prince of Persia and Dave in black and white.

Because I don’t have the option, I was forced to fix and upgrade all my computers, both Windows and Mac.
In the early 2010s, I wrote about electronics and I always was helping people buy the best tech for their needs.

Acer Predator Helios 300 REVIEW

  • PERFORMANCE:

With its  i7-10750H processor and 16GB of memory, this laptop offers more than enough power to make an ideal laptop for you as an Android developer.

  • DISPLAY:

The 240Hz high-refresh-rate screen provides a silky-smooth picture, ample brightness, wide viewing angles, anti-glare surface giving you vibrant visuals.

  • KEYBOARD:

The four-zone RGB keyboard is designed for gaming.

The keys have a long enough travel distance that lets you know they are fully pressed.

  • TRACKPAD:

The large enough trackpad is easy to use due to its smooth surface. The trackpad buttons have a slightly stiff click.

  • STORAGE:

Having 512GB of storage for you as a web developer is more than enough.

The storage you get is an SSD making starting and launching programs fast and it’s also easy to upgrade for up to three internal storage drives.

  • BATTERY LIFE:

The Acer Predator Helios 300 does not have the best battery life possible and this is to be expected because its designed for gamers.

Getting approximately six hours on a single charge is considered good for you as a developer that is most of the time near a power outlet.

  • PORTABILITY

This is where this laptop falls down.

Its weight of 4.85 lbs makes it not the easiest to carry with you, especially in your hand for a prolonged time.

But inside a backpack, I cannot see big concerns with how portable this laptop is.

  • WEBCAM

The webcam of the Acer Predator Helios 300 offers average video quality and does not have a privacy shutter.

VERDICT

If you are looking for a laptop with solid features for the money and a large screen that you can use to develop and play games on, you should consider the Acer Predator Helios 300.

HP Pavilion 15 REVIEW

  • PERFORMANCE:

This laptop feels snappy and is easily able to keep up with day-to-day desktop tasks

The same models that come with Intel’s 11th-gen processor are more powerful than the ones with the Ryzen 4000-series CPU.

Another thing that I liked about the HP Pavilion 15 is that even under intensive use, the fans rarely ramped up.

  • DISPLAY:

The 15.3-inch FHD display that this laptop has is plenty thin, with enough pixel density that does not appear grainy to the eye but it remains highly reflective.

  • KEYBOARD:

The full-size keyboard is great to type on. The keys have minimal flex and decent key travel.

Unfortunately, the keyboard does not have a keyboard backlight that helps typing in dark conditions.

  • TRACKPAD:

The trackpad on this laptop is large, supports multi-touch, and has a convincing click.

  • STORAGE:

The 512GB SSD storage makes the HP Pavilion 15 an ideal choice for Android users looking for fast and large storage space at the same time.

  • BATTERY LIFE:

Unfortunately, the HP Pavilion 15 can only last 6 hours looping a locally stored video with deactivated Wi-Fi. Which is not expected considering its heavyweight.

  • PORTABILITY

Despite looking thin, this laptop is not lightweight.

  • WEBCAM

The HP Pavilion 15 has a decent HP Wide Vision 720p camera.

VERDICT

For people with Android phones on a budget looking for a laptop with a lot of power that makes it perfect for work, a sharp display, and great viewing angles.

Dell Inspiron 3000 (3511) REVIEW

  • PERFORMANCE:

The Dell Inspiron 3000 (3511) has enough power for day-to-day web browsing and office use.

This laptop remains amongst the best to run Android studio if you are on a budget.

  • DISPLAY:

The 15.6-inch display is anti-glare but isn’t that bright, making images and video look dim.

  • KEYBOARD:

The keyboard is quite comfortable to type on and has slight feedback.

Another thing that I liked about this laptop is its hinge that places the keyboard at a better angle when you open up the laptop.

Unfortunately, this keyboard has no backlight that helps typing in dark conditions.

  • TRACKPAD:

The trackpad is wide but feels a bit loose and hallow but it still tracks movement well and is clickable.

  • STORAGE:

The Dell Inspiron 3000 (3511) comes with a 128GB SSD that makes the laptop starts up and launch programs fast.

  • BATTERY LIFE:

This laptop can last 7 hours and 38 minutes looping a locally stored video on a single charge, while Wi-Fi is deactivated and brightness is set at 50%.

For day-to-day or office use, I expect it to be able to last about 4 hours of web browsing over Wi-Fi.

  • PORTABILITY

Dell Inspiron 3000 (3511) weight of 3.9 lbs makes it not that easy to carry around, especially without a backpack.

  • WEBCAM

The HD 720p front-facing web camera can’t produce a sharp picture but remains an average laptop web camera.

VERDICT

If you are on a budget and you are looking for a laptop that can run Android studio, this laptop can be an ideal choice.

Simbans Tango XL REVIEW

  • PERFORMANCE:

This Android hybrid laptop is perfectly fine to draw on it, watch videos, and play 2D games.

For people looking for an intensive gaming tablet/laptop hybrid, this isn’t the right fit due to the limited CPU and the 4 GB of RAM.

Don’t get me wrong, this Android hybrid laptop can run high graphic demanding games, but not smoothly.

  • DISPLAY:

The IPS display is bright with good viewing angles, but it became hard to see outdoors in bright sunlight.

  • KEYBOARD:

The detachable keyboard of the Simbans Tango XL is sturdy and ok for taking notes.

  • STORAGE:

The Simbans Tango XL comes with 64 GB of internal storage, which is pretty standard for most devices

Storage can be increased with a micro SD card.

  • BATTERY LIFE:

The Simbans Tango XL lasts a decent amount of time. In casual use, one single charge can last the entire day.

Batter life varies depending on the task being performed.

If it’s not in use and no apps are running, it drops around 29% after 18-20 hours.

  • PORTABILITY

The detachable keyboard is pretty lightweight and does not scratch easily like cheap plastic.

Overall, this Android hybrid laptop is super easy to carry everywhere.

  • WEBCAM

The comes with a very basic 8MP camera. If you are looking for an Android tablet for photography, this is not a good choice.

VERDICT

If you are looking for an everyday 2-in-1 Android laptop that you can take to work, school, casually draw, or as an alternative for playing light games, this might be an excellent fit for you.

MEIZE Dual 4G REVIEW

  • PERFORMANCE:

This Android tablet is slow and takes a while to open web pages.

Examples of the slow performance are like having the online video audio start long before the video screen opens and taking too long to switch between open pages

  • DISPLAY:

Not the best screen quality but remains great.

  • KEYBOARD:

The keyboard is nice and compact.

  • STORAGE:

The 128 GB of internal storage is more than enough for basic use.

  • BATTERY LIFE:

The battery life on the MEIZE Dual 4G is long unless you play some games which drain battery life, but it will die when not being used for a couple of days.

What is good about this Android hybrid laptop is that it charges quickly even while playing games.

  • PORTABILITY

As with all tablet designs, their small size makes them easy to carry, but this Android tablet is not lightweight considering the competition.

  • WEBCAM

The camera quality is good for a tablet in its price.

VERDICT

If you are looking for an affordable Android tablet to use in your home, this can be a good choice.

Android laptops are Android tablets with keyboards.

Compared to Chrome laptops, both are Linux based but they are independent of each other, this is why their applications are downloaded from different online app stores

APPS COMPATIBILITY

The problem of having Android on a laptop is that theAndroid applications are designed with the intent of being touched. so, when you try to have control with a mouse and keyboard things become a little complicated to use.

MULTI-TASKING

Android laptops are not that good at multi-tasking and this is due to their limited RAM and app optimization.
